Research Scientist in Marine Biology
Welcome to my website
I am presently holding a post doc position at the Nordic Center for Earth Evolution (NordCEE), Institute of Biology, and University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
My current research is focused on marine biogeochemistry and auto- heterotrophic activity in benthic and sea-ice environments. My background and previous working experience are related to the following subjects:
- Biological Oceanography and Ocean Optics
- Phytoplankton Ecology and Physiology
- Photobiology and Bio-optics
- Remote Sensing and Ecosystem Modeling
- Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) and Platforms
My research is focused on marine ecosystems and the biological, physical and chemical processes controlling their balance and activity. I study mainly microalgae and microbial ecology and physiology, including studies on photosynthesis, respiratory and metabolic activity, and how light and temperature affect these processes. I conduct both laboratory and field-work experiments.
