Google Earth rocks...!
I am a great fan of the Google Earth application and how it can be applied to visualize a lot of things easily, e.g. scientific projects, sampling activities and results, along with sea ice distribution in the Arctic, sea surface temperatures, surface chlorophyll estimates etc. (besides from the location of your holiday hotel, home or last mountain peak :-))
Here is a list of selected kml- and kmz files including sampling stations from my recent fieldwork activities.
NESSAR sampling stations in the Barents Sea 2007 and 2008. NESSAR is a Norwegian Internation Polar Year project (Drinkwater, IMR) on which I am involved as a post doc
